Fat Loss 1-2-3: Step 1
There is one fat loss rule that you MUST obey.
No, I am not talking about those stupid and misleading 1 rule: obey ads that you see everywhere.
The rule that I am talking about is; the calories you burn off have to be more than the calories that you take in.
Seems easy enough, right? There are literally dozens of ways that you can do this.
But if it is so easy, why do so many people not lose that weight that they want to lose?
Because they take this one rule, complicate the heck out of it, and try to do too much at once.
I am guilty of this as well. I believe that I could have lost the 70lbs much quicker if I knew the info below back then.
So, if you already have your exercise program dialed in (sleep enough, control your stress levels, etc.) just follow the first step given here and the 2 that will follow and you will have that healthy, lean body you have been looking for in no time.
Get Rid of Excess Sugar. The average American eats 82 grams or 20 teaspoons of sugar that has been added to products they consume every day. This adds up to about 320 additional calories a day. A day. Not only is this not good for fat loss it can also help add 1 lb of fat to your frame every 11 days. Which could mean an additional 33 lbs a year and an honorary membership to the FGAA.
Where is all this excess sugar coming from? The main culprit is regular soda. Regular soda accounts for one-third of all excess sugar consumed by Americans. Soda is even the beverage of choice in America with the average person consuming 500 bottles or cans per year. With each 8 oz serving adding (notice I said 8 oz serving) up to 50 grams of nutritionally void sugar which is more than 100% of the RDA for sugar. I hear that it is the only beverage that Mcluvhandles will let his kids drink.
Soda: the preferred drink of overweight (diabetic) Americans everywhere.
Other culprits are:
- baked goods
- cereals
- candy (duh)
- fruit drinks
- sweetened milk product (i.e. flavored milk and yogurt, ice cream, etc.)
- dressings and sauces.
With what seems like everything containing added sugars, what can you eat that hasn’t had sugar added.
- All meats (even though I have been told by those that come from other countries that the meat here is sweeter, so I am kind of curious)
- vegetables
- fruits
- eggs.
- unsweetened milk
- unsweetened whole grain products.
Fruit: fuel for a lean, healthy body.
So to get rid of the excess sugars in your diet just avoid soda and all foods listed in the first group and stick to foods in the second group. Not only will you not be consuming excess sugar (and reducing your calorie intake) but you will have eliminated most junk food from your diet making it healthier.
You have a couple of weeks to kickstart your fat loss before you proceed to step 2. Which should really get the fat loss ball rolling.
