What to Stuff Yourself with this Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is next Thursday. I bet that your mouth is already starting to water thinking about all the turkey, stuffing, green bean almondine, mash potatoes and pecan pie your going to eat.
Or shall I say over eat.
The average American eats over 3,000 calories and 200 grams of fat at the Thanksgiving meal alone. And that doesn’t include the snacks before hand. Or the left overs for that matter.
Eating like this is a great way to become stuff yourself. With extra fat around your middle that is.
Don’t worry you can still enjoy yourself without having to resort to drastic measures.
Yes, you still get to eat. Just make sure that it these foods:
1.) Turkey Breast. – Turkey meat is a good source of protein, iron, zinc potassium and B vitamins. Also, a portion of the white stuff only has 41 calories per serving. And yes, you can also have the dark. It’s only slightly higher in calories then the white.
Don’t forget to get a workout in.
2.) Green beans almondine. – You still get your green beans without all the fat from the fried onions and high fat cream soups that come in green bean casserole. And the almonds give it an extra health kick. (check out: 9 Flat Stomach Foods You MUST Have in Your Kitchen to see how)
Look yummy. Get almondine recipe here.
3.) Sweet potatoes. – Not only do they taste great but they are loaded with Vitamin A. You can either eat them whole for the extra fiber or mix them with some milk and butter. If you do the latter, try not to eat as much.
Eat them like this. Delicious and nutritious.
4.) Salads. – Just make sure that you keep the dressing on the side. Avoid fat free dressing as they are loaded with chemicals and sugar.
5.) Stuffing. – Just make sure that it is made with chicken broth and vegetables not butter and fatty sausage or turkey meat.
6.) Pumpkin Pie. – Other pies can contain 480 calories per slice. So try this pumpkin pie recipe that has less than half the calories.
7. Eggnog. – Go with a lighter varieties. Or if you must have the regular stuff, skip dessert.
Just don’t have too much or you will look like this by Christmas.
Stick to the above foods this Thanksgiving and you won’t become one of them many trying to “stuff” themselves into their clothes this holiday season.
